Otonomo Q3 2022 update: Revenue up 12.2x YoY amid continued scaling and customer acquisition

Earnings/results

  • Otonomo, an Israeli startup that offers a vehicle data platform, announced its Q3 2022 results today. The company reported revenue of USD 2 million in Q3 2022, up 12.2x YoY compared to Q3 2021—due to increased customer acquisition.

  • The company's non-GAAP operating loss for the quarter amounted to USD 13.4 million, 1.5x higher than the quarterly loss incurred a year ago. The widening losses were due to higher costs of services, cloud infrastructure costs, and operating expenses such as R&D, sales and marketing, and general and administrative expenses.

  • Key business highlights include 1) 24% QoQ growth in recurring revenue, 2) 4% QoQ growth in bookings to USD 2.2 million, 3) backlog at USD 4.8 million, 4) annual recurring revenue at USD 6.7 million, up by 11% QoQ, and 5) the addition of 19 new customers in Q3 2022.

  • The company did not provide a revenue forecast for the rest of the year but noted plans to continue scaling and growing its customer base.
