American Battery Technology Company selected for USD 10 million federal grant

Funding

  • American Battery Technology Company, a Nevada-based startup offering sustainable sourcing of critical battery materials through lithium-ion battery recycling and battery metal extraction technologies, was awarded USD 10 million in federal grant funding from the Department of Energy (DOE) under Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.

  • This funding will be used for the development and commercialization of the company’s recycling technology and manufacturing process while creating jobs.

  • Founded in 2011, American Battery Technology Company provides domestically sourced battery metals through its three segments: lithium-ion battery recycling, primary battery metal extraction technologies, and primary resources development. The company uses a closed-loop battery recycling process that extracts critical materials from end-of-life batteries and purifies them to the same, or even higher, quality specifications than conventional materials sourced from mining operations.
