American Battery Technology Company, a Nevada-based startup offering sustainable sourcing of critical battery materials through lithium-ion battery recycling and battery metal extraction technologies, was awarded USD 10 million in federal grant funding from the Department of Energy (DOE) under Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.
This funding will be used for the development and commercialization of the company’s recycling technology and manufacturing process while creating jobs.
Founded in 2011, American Battery Technology Company provides domestically sourced battery metals through its three segments: lithium-ion battery recycling, primary battery metal extraction technologies, and primary resources development. The company uses a closed-loop battery recycling process that extracts critical materials from end-of-life batteries and purifies them to the same, or even higher, quality specifications than conventional materials sourced from mining operations.
