Purfi Global, a sustainable technology company transforming textile waste into virgin quality fiber products, has partnered with Arvind Ltd., India’s largest textile conglomerate, to reduce the amount of textile waste going to landfills by jointly building a series of fiber rejuvenation facilities.
The first of these facilities, planned to be located near one of Arvind’s manufacturing facilities in India, is expected to process textile waste – white cotton, colored cotton, denim, and synthetics – into virgin-like fibers for reuse from two lines with a 5,500-ton capacity per year each. The companies are predicted to invest USD 25 to 30 million for these two lines and have plans for further expansion in the next five years, which include an addition of a production line that removes elastomers from fabrics utilizing another of PurFi’s proprietary technologies.
This plant is slated to start construction in Q4 2022 with full production expected to commence in Q4 2023.
Headquartered in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Purfi is a manufacturer of quality products including Nonwovens, Yarn & Filaments, Tile & Composites, and Paper & Packaging, using rejuvenated industrial waste, predominantly textile waste. The company owns 14 patents/patents pending related to textile rejuvenation technology.
