Agrology, a Virginia-based startup offering a predictive agriculture platform, raised an undisclosed amount in a seed funding round led by Active Impact Investments. New investors, including Skyview Ventures, Phoenix Ventures Partners, and other syndicate investors also joined the round.
The funds will be used to hire new staff and expand the company’s reach across local and international markets.
Founded in 2019, Agrology offers a predictive agriculture platform that processes data from the fields using machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI) models to provide insights on irrigation, weather, pest and disease outbreaks, and soil carbon respiration and sequestration. The company claims that its systems provide forecasts up to four days in advance. The company also offers a regenerative agriculture platform with a soil carbon respiration monitoring system that tracks soil microbiome health and changes in soil carbon content.
