Israeli plant-based protein ingredient brand ChickP has developed a dairy and additive-free ice cream using its chickpea protein isolate with support coming from Israeli ice cream chain Vaniglia.
The company claims this vegan ice cream compares more closely in terms of taste and texture to real dairy ice cream than other dairy-free options. According to the company, the chickpea protein isolate provides much-needed stabilizing properties in the absence of additives allowing for a shorter and cleaner list of ingredients.
This unique stabilizing ability demonstrated through the ice cream can also lead to the production of other dairy-free products such as cream cheese and yogurt according to ChickP CEO, Lachich Levy.
