Verdant Robotics raises USD 46.5 million in Series A funding

Funding

  • Verdant Robotics, a California-based startup manufacturing precision spraying robots, raised USD 46.5 million in a Series A funding round led by Cleveland Avenue. New investors, including DCVC Bio, Future Ventures, and SeaX Ventures, and existing investors including Autotech Ventures, Cavallo Ventures, and AgFunder also joined the round.

  • The funds will be used to expand the company’s robotics technology and accelerate the broad adoption of its precision agriculture solutions. 

  • Founded in 2018, Verdant Robotics offers multi-action autonomous robots that use technologies such as AI, computer vision, and global positioning systems (GPS) to carry out operations on the field such as weeding, fertilizing and spraying pesticides. The company offers its solution based on the Robotics-as-a-Service (RaaS) subscription model. As of date, the company’s robots are used on a wide variety of specialty crops across thousands of acres and have pending orders for “tens of thousands” of additional acres.
