Rocket Lab creates subsidiary dedicated to national security

Industry news

  • Rocket Lab, a California-based space travel and space launch company, announced it has created a wholly owned subsidiary—Rocket Lab National Security LLC (RLNS)–-which will be providing dedicated services to US defense and intelligence customers.

  • Moving forward, RLNS will handle all defense-related launch service and space systems capabilities for the US government and its allies. Having worked previously with agencies such as National Reconnaissance Office (NRO), DARPA, and the US Space Force, Rocket Lab will deliver new and existing services for national security requirements through RLNS.

  • Missions which do not require stringent security measures, whether it be for civilian agencies like NASA and NOAA or defense missions with less red tape, are still likely to be handled by Rocket Lab.
