Higher Ground Education acquires micro-childcare facility developer NeighborSchools

M&A

  • Higher Ground Education, a school management platform, acquired NeighborSchools, a micro-childcare facility developer, for an undisclosed amount.

  • The acquisition is expected to broaden Higher Ground Education's reach into in-home offerings and increase its access to pedagogically superior early childhood programs. Additionally, a new "Hub & Spoke" concept will be introduced as a result of the NeighborSchools acquisition. Higher Ground plans to increase the number of infant classrooms per school by establishing Guidepost micro-schools in tiny home-based satellite locations, with guides running the classrooms and the central school serving as a support system.

  • NeighborSchools offers a proprietary platform and online community support to help professional childcare providers become independent and open their very own small, independent daycares. As of April 2022, the platform had launched 70 daycares.
