Fleek, a Web3 developer platform, raised USD 25 million in Series A funding in a round led by Polychain Capital, with participation from investors such as Coinbase Ventures, Digital Currency Group, and Protocol Labs.
The company expects to use the fresh funds to build its platform and the decentralized content delivery network (CDN)—Fleek Network (which is slated to launch in 2023) while investing in growing its headcount and community base.
Fleek currently hosts over 50,000 apps on its platform and while most of this number comes from the Ethereum ecosystem, the platform also hosts apps from other protocols.
Founded in 2018, Fleek offers a suite of tools for developers to build applications across the Web3 ecosystem with support for base networks such as Ethereum and other protocols such as Filecoin. The company is working on launching a decentralized edge network that will allow users to run nodes and provide resources closer to the end. with the aim to meet performance levels equivalent to Web2.
