GoStudent, an online tutoring platform, acquired Studienkreis, a Germany-based blended learning and online tutoring service provider, for an undisclosed amount.
The acquisition is expected to strengthen GoStudent's hybrid learning strategy by combining Studienkreis’ center-based tutoring services with its online learning materials. The company also stated that Studienkreis will continue to operate under its present brand name.
Founded in 1974, Studienkreis operates a network of learning centers offering small-group tutoring to primary and secondary school pupils in Germany. The company entered the online learning market in 2012 and, in 2018, expanded its product line by purchasing LernQuadrat, an Austrian provider of online learning solutions. The platform currently operates more than 1,000 tuition centers nationally.
Analyst QuickTake: The acquisition of Studienkreis marks the company’s third acquisition this year. In February 2022, GoStudent acquired Seneca Learning, a UK-based algorithmic learning content provider, and Tus Media Group, a Spanish open tutoring marketplace, allowing it to expand its product portfolio and execute its global growth strategy.
