Patient engagement and telehealth solutions provider Carenet Health has acquired fellow patient engagement provider Stericycle Communication Solutions for USD 45 million in a cash deal. This announcement marks the second acquisition Carenet Health completed in 2022, following its acquisition of OpenMed in January. 

The acquisition of Stericycle Communication Solutions was carried out to bolster Carenet Health’s services, which will incorporate Stericycle’s functions such as its virtual scheduling, messaging tools, and additional call center services. 

Stericycle Communication Solutions, a segment of medical waste disposal provider Stericycle, helps healthcare providers engage with patients through its scheduling, messaging, and call center services while also helping healthcare organizations optimize their practices. 

Texas-based Carenet Health is a global patient engagement facilitator for healthcare providers. The company provides clinical support, virtual care, and online scheduling. The company claims that one in four Americans have access to its services.
