CNH Industrial, an agriculture and industrial equipment manufacturer, acquired a 10% minority stake in Stout Industrial Technology, a company focused on smart agricultural implements powered by AI.
The investment enables CNH Industrial to enhance its See & Act machine learning capabilities, as Stout demonstrated success in this field with its Smart Cultivator (a software-controlled implement for tractors that employs cameras, AI, and vision technology to distinguish crops from weeds).
CNH Industrial believes that this technology simplifies cultivating and weeding for its customers, expanding its mechanical weeding product offering and speeding the development of cultivation solutions. Stout machines will be distributed soon through the dealer network of CNH Industrial's New Holland brand.
Founded in 2019, Stout Industrial Technology is an AI company helping farmers automate labor-intensive field work like weeding. The company's Smart Cultivator combines a patented, mechanical platform used in agriculture with its cutting-edge Stout True Vision technology to cultivate the land and remove weeds in a single pass.
