Oyster emerges from stealth with USD 3.6 million in seed funding

Funding

  • Oyster, a personal line insurance provider, raised USD 3.6 million in seed funding in a round led by New Stack Ventures, with participation from Global Founders Capital, Conversion Capital, and a group of angel investors. This funding also marks Oyster’s emergence from stealth.

  • The company aims to use the fresh funds to develop its omnichannel insurance platform catering to both customers and merchants.

  • Founded in 2021, Oyster offers personal line insurance covering bikes, electronics, jewelry, and personal collectibles. It uses proprietary data to offer tailored and affordable covers for each product line. In addition, the company also provides a no-code platform that merchants can use to offer embedded insurance at the point of sale.
