Indian battery recycling company ACE Green Recycling partnered with Tabono, an African investment company specializing in mining, logistics, and recycling, to form a joint venture to build and operate two environmentally sustainable battery recycling facilities in South Africa.
As per the partnership agreement, the ownership of the two factories will be split between ACE Green and Tabono at 51% and 49% respectively, and the facilities will separately process and recycle lead-acid and lithium-ion batteries using ACE's proprietary Scope 1 emission-free recycling technology.
Through this partnership, the companies expect to leverage ACE Green’s portfolio of proprietary lead-acid and lithium-ion battery recycling technology along with Tabono’s expertise in the minerals and industrial services industries across Botswana, Mozambique, Tanzania, and South Africa.
