Virtual reality (VR) based mental health providers BehaVR and OxfordVR merged to form the largest virtual reality healthcare delivery platform. The providers will merge and operate under BehaVR’s brand with BehaVR's founder CEO Aaron Gani leading the company, with Dr. Daniel Freeman, OxfordVR's founder, being a part of the leadership team.
The merged entities raised USD 13 million in a Series B funding round co-led by Oxford Science Enterprises and Optum Ventures, along with participation from other venture capital firms. The funds raised will be used to support the merger of the two entities.
The combined entity will continue to provide BehvaVR’s clinically validated and VR-based treatments for mental and behavioral health conditions and chronic diseases while including OxfordVR’s FDA-approved automated cognitive-behavioral VR therapy “gameChange.”
BehaVR is a virtual reality (VR)-based mental health startup that provides digital therapy to clients through virtual reality, cloud computing, and machine learning. It allows VR sessions to be personalized and engaging through patient experience logs and responses being captured and analyzed.
