Nexus Circular, an Atlanta-based plastic waste recycler, raised USD 150 million in an equity funding round led by Cox Enterprises, who will become the majority owner under the terms agreed upon by the two parties.
The funds will be used to accelerate the expansion of the company’s proprietary advanced recycling technology by building facilities with the capacity to process over 250 million pounds of used plastic annually.
This investment comes as a part of Cox’s wider cleantech strategy to acquire and scale businesses with a positive environmental impact.
