Beck's Superior Hybrids, a retail seed company, partnered with FieldWatch, a company that helps crop producers, beekeepers, and pesticide applicators communicate, collaborate, and cooperate.
As part of this collaboration, DriftWatch, FieldWatch's specialty crop site registry, would be integrated into FARMserver, Beck's web-based tool for assisting farmers in implementing precision agriculture strategies.
The collaboration further makes farmers aware of where high-value specialty crops and pollinator habitats are being grown in their communities. It expands the reach of FieldWatch's registries, promoting improved agricultural stewardship. Through an online mapping system, producers can map their sites and provide contact information to pesticide applicators. After registering a site, the information is made available directly through FARMserver.
FARMserver, owned and distributed by Beck's Superior Hybrids, is a web-based tool designed to help farmers implement precision farming strategies on their farms. Farmers can use this simple and secure tool to precisely monitor cropping variables, collect and analyze data on those variables, and then use the resulting information to increase farm productivity.
Launched in 2008, FieldWatch specializes in developing and providing online mapping tools to enhance communications that promote awareness and stewardship activities between crop producers, beekeepers, and pesticide applicators. FieldWatch has developed DriftWatch Specialty Crop Site, BeeCheck Apiary Registry, and CropCheck Row Crop Registry. FieldWatch has expanded into 24 US states, Washington DC, and one Canadian province.
