Lesson, a residential property improvement and maintenance platform, announces the acquisition of SMS Assist, a residential and commercial property maintenance and improvement platform, for a sum of USD 950 million.
Founded in 1995, SMS Assist is a property maintenance platform focused on residential and commercial properties. The platform allows property owners to control maintenance tasks within commercial facilities such as retail stores, banks, restaurants, and rental homes.
Lesson has raised USD 500 million in equity and debt funding with participation from Monroe Capital and Invitation Homes Inc. to finance this acquisition at a post-money valuation of USD 2 billion. The company intends to utilize the funds to finance the transaction. Through this acquisition, Lessen plans to leverage SMS Assist’s technological capabilities and offer a broader range of property services.
