Excir receives USD 1.9 million investment from Canadian Government

Funding

  • Excir, a Canadian startup offering technology solutions for the extraction of precious metals, has received ~USD 1.9 million in funding from the federal Jobs and Growth Fund of the Canadian Government.

  • The funding will be used to design and operate a pilot plant to demonstrate the effectiveness of the company's hydrometallurgical leaching technology in extracting precious metals from catalytic converters and e-scrap.

  • Analyst Quick Take: In October 2021 Excir announced a collaboration with the British Royal Mint (a government-owned mint that produces coins for the UK) to extract precious metals from e-scrap for use in coin production, following the receipt of CAD 6.68 million (USD 5.4 million) from The Federal Government of Canada in February 2021. This latest funding round reflects the continuous backing from the Canadian government towards Excir.
