Cepton, a manufacturer of LiDAR sensors, released its new slim, software-definable, automotive-grade LiDAR solution called “Vista-X120 Plus” for real-time adaptive 3D perception. The unit is now available for purchase.
Vista-X120 Plus has a detection range of up to 200 meters and a field of view (FoV) of 120 x 25 degrees. The slim and compact nature of the model (140 mm x 30 mm in size) enables automotive OEMs to install the units without impacting the vehicle's appearance. The company also claims that the unit has higher dynamic perception capabilities with improved accuracy in detecting and classifying objects when driving.
Analyst QuickTake: The latest model will expand Cepton’s portfolio of automotive-grade LiDAR solutions namely, “Vista-X” and “Nova.” The “Vista-X90” model has a detection range of up to 200 meters and FoV of 90 x 25 degrees, and the “Vista-X120” model has a detection range of up to 200 meters and FoV of 120 x 32 degrees. Nova LiDAR comes with a detection range of up to 30 meters and an FoV of 120 x 90 degrees.
