Coalition, a pure-play cyber insurance startup, launched its wholly-owned admitted full-stack cyber insurance carrier, Coalition Insurance Company (CIC).
CIC secured an A- rating from AM Best. It is backed by the company’s Active Cyber Insurance platform, which combines cyber coverage with tools to monitor and manage risks and optional access to its incident response capabilities. It will issue insurance policies that will include cyber protection for both small and midsize businesses. CIC also projects sustained premium growth in the cyber insurance line over the next five years.
CIC, which is licensed in all 50 US states and the District of Columbia, will start quoting its cyber insurance product via Coalition-appointed brokers in several US states from March 2023, with plans to expand nationwide throughout this year.
Coalition currently provides its Active Insurance products through its carrier partners in the US, UK, and Canada, and offers its security products to businesses worldwide.
Analyst QuickTake: Coalition is the second major cyber insurance disruptor in the span of a month to become a full-stack insurance carrier following At-Bay’s acquisition of a licensed property and casualty (P&C) insurance carrier from XL Insurance America last week. At-Bay will start issuing policies through this carrier later this year.
