Ready Player Me, a metaverse avatar creation platform developed by Wolf3d, announced the launch of trials for generative AI avatar creation through Ready Player Me Labs.
Ready Player Me Labs offers users a free beta version of its avatar creator tool integrated with DALL-E’s generative AI art platform through text prompts. This marks the first time users can create their own avatar outfits on the platform, which can also be shared on social media platforms. The company plans to continue adding advancements to the Avatar API, Unity, and Unreal SDKs for developers, alongside experimental features such as AI-based avatar stylization, gender-neutral body types, and age preset options to their Labs.
Analyst QuickTake: The recent development seeks to capitalize on the growth of generative AI creation tools and comes on the back of previous partnerships to bolster product offerings. In January 2023 , Ready Player Me partnered with Unstoppable Domains to connect users’ Web3 identity to their metaverse identity and also partnered with Hiber to provide customizable 3D avatars in October 2022 .
