Recycleye raises USD 17 million in series A funding

Funding

  • Recycleye, a London-based waste and recycling technology company, has raised USD 17 million in Series A funding led by DCVC, a deep-tech venture capital firm. The funding round was also joined by existing investors Promus Ventures, Playfair Capital, MMC Ventures, Creator Fund, Atypical, and new investors Seaya Andromeda.

  • The funding will be used to improve Recycleye’s AI-powered robotic technology for sorting waste materials. The technology uses the company's proprietary AI models to combine computer vision and robotics to identify and pick unlimited material classes, such as plastics, paper, and aluminum, and provides data to material recovery facility operators.

  • Founded in 2019, Recycleye offers AI-powered robotics that is claimed to decrease the cost of material sorting processes and deliver essential data to material recovery facility operators. A robot can pick up to 33,000 items over a 10-hour shift and is able to operate 24/7 all year through. Its technology is installed in facilities across Europe, the US, the UK, and Australia.
