Dymension, a modular blockchain startup, has raised USD 6.7 million in a seed funding round co-led by Big Brain Holdings and Stratos, with participation from MatchboxDAO and Shalom Meckenzie of DraftKings, among others.
The funds will be utilized to expand its current employee headcount of nine in the near future.
In addition, the company announced that its public testnet is scheduled to launch on the 15th of February. The mainnet launch will follow in Q3 2023 after the data gathered from the initial phase is reviewed. The company has also announced plans to raise additional funds of ~USD 20 million before its mainnet launch.
Dymension offers a network of modular blockchains called RollApps powered by the Dymension Hub for developers to build and deploy their own blockchains. The company develops RollApps with its RollApp development kit (RDK) based on the Cosmos Software development kit (SDK). The RollApps are compatible with EVM and connect to the Cosmos and IBC ecosystem.
