California-based, leading plant-based meat producer, Impossible Foods, has expanded its product line with the addition of three new plant-based chicken products: Impossible Spicy Chicken Nuggets, Impossible Spicy Chicken Patties, and Impossible Chicken Tenders. 

The products will initially be available in the frozen aisle at select retail locations in the US from this month, with national availability to follow in the coming months. Additionally, Impossible Chicken Tenders will be served at selected food service locations across the country. 

Impossible Spicy Chicken Nuggets and Impossible Spicy Chicken Patties feature a blend of spices that adds a fiery twist to the company's original plant-based chicken recipe. According to the company, all three products offer 10–12 grams of protein per serving, no cholesterol, and up to 35% less total fat and 55% less saturated fat than their animal-based counterparts.

Analyst QuickTake: The announcement comes a day after Impossible’s closest rival, Beyond Meat, announced the launch of its three new plant-based chicken options in the Netherlands . Although the plant-based meat sector has been on a downward path in 2022, Impossible Foods witnessed hypergrowth in 2022, with more than 50% YoY increase in dollar sales of retail alone, while Beyond Meat reported declines in sales numbers.
