AR ecosystem developer Spheroid Universe raises USD 25 million in funding

Funding

  • AR ecosystem developer Spheroid Universe raised USD 25 million in funding from ABO Digital, an investment firm providing alternative financing to cryptocurrency projects.

  • Funding will be used to scale Spheroid Universe’s infrastructure, with the company developing its Spheroid Script software, a cross-platform programming language for the creation of AR and XR applications alongside Spheroid Demiurge IDE, a cloud-based development environment for AR and XR projects. 

  • Spheroid Universe develops platforms for XR projects using the Spheroid XR Cloud and the Spheroid Script programming language. Spheroid Universe offers XR advertising, a “Space Marketplace” for monetizing and trading Spaces and Spheroid.Earth, a community-based project for creating a digital copy of Earth using computer vision and AI, linked to Spaces NFT.

  • Analyst QuickTake: The funding use represents an acceleration of product development for the company, following the launch of Spheroid.Earth in October 2022 and its ad-service XR platform Spheroid Warp in August 2022 , which provides advertisers a platform to map AR content over real-world environments.
