AR ecosystem developer Spheroid Universe raises USD 25 million in funding

AR ecosystem developer Spheroid Universe raised USD 25 million in funding from ABO Digital, an investment firm providing alternative financing to cryptocurrency projects.
Funding will be used to scale Spheroid Universe’s infrastructure, with the company developing its Spheroid Script software, a cross-platform programming language for the creation of AR and XR applications alongside Spheroid Demiurge IDE, a cloud-based development environment for AR and XR projects.
Spheroid Universe develops platforms for XR projects using the Spheroid XR Cloud and the Spheroid Script programming language. Spheroid Universe offers XR advertising, a “Space Marketplace” for monetizing and trading Spaces and Spheroid.Earth, a community-based project for creating a digital copy of Earth using computer vision and AI, linked to Spaces NFT.
Analyst QuickTake: The funding use represents an acceleration of product development for the company, following the launch of Spheroid.Earth in October 2022 and its ad-service XR platform Spheroid Warp in August 2022 , which provides advertisers a platform to map AR content over real-world environments.
