Huma Finance, a DeFi lending protocol, raised USD 8.3 million in seed funding co-led by Race Capital and Distributed Global, with participation from ParaFi, Circle Ventures, and Robot Ventures.
The company plans to use the funds to continue the development of its platform and expand into new markets. Additionally, Huma Finance will also be publicly launching its platform in collaboration with its launch partners—Circle, Request Network, and Superfluid.
Analyst QuickTake: Despite the market turmoil, DeFi lending has seen growing investor interest in the last two months with a number of startups raising funding. These include Archimedes , Arch , and Exactly Protocol , which raised USD 4.9 million , USD 2.75 million , and USD 2 million in funding respectively. Huma aims to differentiate itself by enabling users to borrow based on their cash flow (which includes receivables such as pay stubs and invoices) rather than their crypto assets.
