Semrush, a search engine optimization (SEO) tool, announced that it acquired Traffic Think Tank (TTT), a marketing-focused educational firm and community, to enhance its educational arm Semrush Academy's offerings.
The acquisition allows Semrush to provide marketers with access to communities focused on various aspects of digital marketing, including SEO, content marketing, social media, digital PR, and PPC. It will also enable industry professionals to learn new skills and connect with thought leaders in the industry. Semrush plans to maintain TTT's mission and offer its community access to the Semrush Academy's existing resources, as well as new content and sessions from industry experts.
Following the acquisition, the founders and some consultants of TTT will join Semrush to contribute to the growth of the Semrush community.
Semrush further stated that it aims to create a comprehensive and personalized digital marketing education platform, providing a learning experience for marketers worldwide, to set a new standard for online self-paced training.
Traffic Think Tank (TTT) was created in 2017 by a group of marketers who sought out other professionals who shared similar difficulties in SEO skills, networking, and identifying career growth opportunities. Within three months, the community grew to over 300 members and offered a significant amount of on-demand educational material. As of February 2023, the group had 1,000+ peers sharing content, which includes over 300 hours of educational videos and on-demand courses.
Analyst QuickTake: Semrush's acquisition of Traffic Think Tank and Backlinko (in January 2022), is part of its strategy to improve its educational offerings in digital marketing. By acquiring companies with expertise in different areas of digital marketing, Semrush aims to provide a more comprehensive learning experience for its users, which would help solidify its position as a leader in the education space for digital marketing.
