  • Japanese on-orbit servicing solutions provider, Astroscale, has raised more than USD 76 million in a Series G funding round, bringing the total funding raised by the company to date to USD 376 million. Mitsubishi Electric, Yusaka Maezawa, Mitsubishi UFJ Bank, Mitsubishi Corporation, Development Bank of Japan, and EFL corporation participated in this round.

  • The funding raised is expected to finance further innovative technology developments, global expansion, and increased capacity to accommodate rising demand.

  • Astroscale also announced a new partnership with Mitsubishi Electric to collaborate on the development and manufacturing of satellite buses for Japanese national security constellations. These buses will feature Astroscale docking plates for docking or shifting in case they are unable to de-orbit themselves at the end of their operational lifespan.
