Eclipse, a customizable Layer 2 rollup provider, announced that it partnered with Polygon, an Ethereum-focused Layer 2 scaling provider, to launch Polygon SVM (Sealevel virtual machine), the first Solana-equivalent Layer 2 scaling solution.
The Polygon SVM will be implemented on Polygon, making it easy for Solana-based dApps to migrate or go multichain, improving transactions by making them safer, faster, and less expensive for users.
The Polygon SVM testnet is slated for release in late Q1 2023, with the mainnet following in the summer of this year.
Formed in 2022, Eclipse is a customizable Layer 2 rollup provider that allows blockchain infrastructure developers to choose between different virtual machines to execute smart contracts. Its rollup technology allows developers to run a new blockchain while benefiting from the security of current networks like Polygon.
