Enapter begins mass production if its AEM Electrolyser EL 4.0

Product updates

  • Enapter, an Italian anion exchange membrane (AEM) electrolyzer producer, announced the mass production of its new proprietary electrolyzer, “AEM Electrolyser EL 4.0.”

  • The company started mass production of its water-cooled AEM electrolyzer at its Enapter Campus in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, with a capacity to produce 10,000 electrolyzers per month.

  • The EL 4.0 electrolyzer will be available in both AC and DC versions. The units are suitable to produce green hydrogen at locations where sufficient cooling using exhaust air systems is not available. Installations are suitable for smaller rooms and containers. Enapter has already received its initial orders for its new AEM electrolyzer.

  • Analyst QuickTake: The AEM EL 4.0 was initially launched in March 2022, with series production at its Pisa facility. This follows the company reporting an annual turnover of EUR 14.7 million (USD 15.8 million) for 2022, an increase of 75% YoY from the previous year's EUR 8.4 million (USD 9.0 million). Enapter also announced plans to double its annual turnover to reach EUR 30 million (USD 32.2 million) in 2023.
