Raven SR, a producer of hydrogen-rich syngas, secured a strategic investment of an undisclosed amount from its construction partner Stellar J.
The proceeds of the investment will support the commercialization of Raven SR’s non-combustion waste-to-hydrogen process. The company plans to begin commercial operations for its waste-to-hydrogen production in early 2024 and sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) operations in 2025.
Analyst QuickTake: This investment follows news in December 2022 , where Raven SR, Chevron, and Hyzon announced a collaboration to deploy a waste-to-hydrogen facility in Richmond, California. As part of the agreement, Hyzon Zero Carbon agreed to invest USD 10 million for an approximate stake of 20% in Raven SR. In August 2021, Raven SR raised USD 20 million in a strategic investment from Chevron, ITOCHU Corporation, Hyzon Motors, Ascent Hydrogen Fund, and Samsung Ventures. Thereby, Stellar J’s investment marks the sixth investment by a Raven SR strategic partner.
