Colorado-based alt-meat company Meati has announced the appointment of Elizabeth Fikes as chief supply chain officer and Joseph Johnston as SVP of operations and engineering. Fikes will oversee the performance of Meati’s integrated supply chain while Johnston reporting to Fikes will provide oversight of capital projects and operations. The appointments come at a pivotal time for the company as it ramps up to a wide-scale retail launch in the second half of 2023.
Fikes, formerly working at Black & Decker and PepsiCo., held positions in operational and transformational roles, bringing expertise in optimizing supply chain operations and improving productivity. She will lead the manufacturing, procurement, engineering, planning, and distribution teams at Meati. Fikes holds a Master's in Systems and Industrial Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Johnston, most recently from Sabra Dipping Company, is a veteran in supply chain operations. He will be responsible for leveraging technology to drive cross-functional value, cost savings, and performance improvements across the supply chain at Meati. Johnston holds a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from Purdue University.
