Samsung files patents for possible XR products the Galaxy Glasses and Galaxy Ring

Product updates

  • Samsung has filed trademark applications for products titled Galaxy Glasses and Galaxy Ring, indicating that the company is considering developing these XR devices in the future.

  • The Galaxy Glasses could function as a smartglass similar to Xiaomi’s Wireless AR Glass Discovery Edition, with the possibility of having a VR mode using a passthrough camera system or see-through AR glasses with lens darkening capabilities. Meanwhile, the Galaxy Ring could function as a fitness and sleep tracker and may have AR capabilities that can be paired with the Galaxy Glasses, similar to the pairing between Nio’s Air Smart Ring and AR glasses.
