ABTC purchases a move-in ready, commercial-scale facility

Geographic expansion

  • American Battery Technology Company (ABTC), a Nevada-based startup offering sustainable sourcing of critical battery materials through lithium-ion battery recycling and battery metal extraction technologies, entered into purchase agreements for a commercial-scale battery recycling facility located in the Tahoe-Reno Industrial Center (TRIC) at 2500 Peru Drive, McCarran, Nevada, to expand operations of lithium-ion battery recycling technologies.

  • The 137,000-square-foot facility, previously used for recycling lead-acid batteries, is move-in ready and equipped with necessary infrastructure, including electrical distribution, HVAC, compressed air, nitrogen, and more, to implement ABTC's lithium-ion battery recycling technologies. The facility would also allow ABTC to increase capacity significantly to meet the growing demand for its recycled products from domestic automotive and battery original equipment manufacturers (OEMs).

  • In addition, ABTC is building its global development center in Fernley, Nevada, to develop and test new battery recycling technologies at different scales to improve the performance of its integrated battery recycling operations.
