Circular Systems, a California-based company that transforms waste into valuable fiber, has partnered with FibreTrace, a Singapore-based company that uses physical traceability markers to ensure the integrity of supply chain information in recycled fibers and implement physical traceability technology into Texloop (Circular Systems’ textile recycling platform) RCOT (recycled cotton) on a global scale.
The partnership is expected to enable recycled cotton traceability and transparency and improve the authenticity and quality of the global recycled cotton sector. The collaboration tracks and illuminates the circular economies attached to recycled fibers, providing retailers and consumers with confidence in their products' impact. This will also help retailers to comply with upcoming EU regulations for increased environmental accountability in the textile industry.
Furthermore, FibreTrace will be activated in all Texloop and Agraloop products by 2024.
