XM Cyber, an advanced persistent threat (APT) simulation and exposure management platform, has acquired detection and response company Confluera for an undisclosed sum.
Founded in 2018, Confluera provides extended detection and response (XDR) capabilities to enterprises. The company uses an AI/ML-based detection engine to offer data security, breach prevention, real-time attack sequencing, and threat intelligence services. Confluera has an operational presence in both US and Japan and has raised USD 29 million in funding to date.
With this acquisition, XM Cyber plans to expand its offerings to all aspects of cloud security including cloud infrastructure entitlement management (CIEM), real-time vulnerability detection and response, and cloud security posture management (CSPM). Further, XM Cyber will now offer a fully-fledged cloud-native application protection platform (CNAPP) solution built on its unique attack path modeling.
