Nvidia partnered with Microsoft to integrate its OMNIVERSE platform, into Microsoft Azure, the company’s supercomputing resources.
Specifically, Azure will host two new cloud services from Nvidia in the second half of 2023, which include the Nvidia Omniverse Cloud and Nvidia DGX Cloud. The Omniverse Cloud is a platform-as-a-service that allows users to design, deploy, and manage industrial XR applications, while the DGX Cloud provides enterprises with immediate access to the infrastructure and software needed to train advanced models for generative AI. In addition to these services, the two companies will connect Microsoft 365 applications such as Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint with OMNIVERSE.
Analyst QuickTake: The partnership to expand Nvidia’s user base for the OMNIVERSE platform follows several updates to it, such as the generation of virtual 3D worlds using ray-tracing solutions in January 2023 , the launch of its Avatar Cloud Engine in August 2022 , and major updates to its content creation library in May 2022 .
