NavVis, a maintenance and monitoring company in the digital twin industry, has collaborated with digital twin solutions provider Nvidia to facilitate the streaming of large-scale reality-capture data for industrial settings.
Under the collaboration, NavVis’ mobile mapping system, NavVis VLX, and spatial data platform NavVis IVION will be integrated with NVIDIA Omniverse via the Universal Scene Description (USD) framework. NavVis VLX and NavVis IVION allow users to efficiently produce and control 3D digital replicas of various settings, ranging from tiny office spaces to vast factories covering millions of square meters. Nvidia’s Omniverse platform enables users to create metaverse technologies based on Pixar's Universal Scene Description system.
Manufacturers that are undergoing costly transformations of their factory environments can use NavVis IVION to model workflows or refine the maintenance of existing surroundings. These digital replicas can be employed for cooperative efforts, using the GPU-enhanced graphics and simulation features of Omniverse.
