OQmented, a tech company developing MEMS-based AR/MR smart glass displays, raised USD 20 million in its Series A financing round led by Sharp, with participation from existing investors Salvia and Vsquared Ventures, among others.
Funding is set to be utilized to improve its laser beam scanning technology (LBS) incorporated in its AR glasses, alongside the hiring of key management personnel and employees for its business development team in US and Asian markets.
Germany-based OQmented is the developer of compact LBS displays for AR/MR devices and 3D-sensing solutions for mobile and stationary applications. OQmented also develops application-specific integrated circuits (ASICs) tailored to work optimally with its MEMS mirrors with the use of proprietary technology.
