Sierra Space partners with ILC Dover to build space infrastructure

Partnerships

  • Sierra Space, an independent commercial space startup, has entered a long-term strategic partnership with engineering and manufacturing company ILC Dover to accelerate the development of next-generation space infrastructure.

  • Leveraging ILC Dover’s extensive spaceflight experience, the companies will collaborate on expediting the deployment of LIFE (Large Integrated Flexible Environment) modules, as well as developing space suits for extra and intra-vehicular activity.

  • ILC Dover will also act as the exclusive supplier of soft goods used to support LIFE modules for LEO and other space applications such as lunar and Mars transport and surface habitation.

  • The companies, along with NASA, will continue to collaborate on one-third-scale LIFE certification tests, with full-scale tests slated to begin later this year.
