Horizen, a layer-0 public blockchain, has launched Horizen EON, a proof-of-stake and ethereum virtual machine (EVM)-compatible sidechain on the permanent public testnet Gobi.
The sidechain is designed to bring EVM compatibility to the Horizen ecosystem and provides developers using solidity, a smart contract programming language, the ability to deploy custom logic to the blockchain without changing the protocol.
Formed in 2017, Horizen enables the zero-knowledge network of blockchains. It is also EVM-compatible and provides tools for developers to custom-build private or public blockchains and dApps. The company also offers a scalable cross-chain protocol, Zendoo.
