Lens Protocol, a decentralized social (DeSo) platform developed by Aave, has launched a scaling solution called Bonsai to improve the processing speed of transactions by handling its Polygon transactions off-chain.
Bonsai is an Optimistic layer-3 scaling solution that works by executing the same signing activities as an EVM chain, but without actually sending the transaction on the chain and burning the gas required to complete the transaction in the EVM state. Instead, a data availability (DA) transaction is created based on a Bonsai function and exported onto a DA layer complete with proofs and required information.
Users have the option to use the Bonsai network for transactions or the Polygon network directly.
Lens Protocol is currently in closed beta, with 3.4 million NFTs (new profiles) and an average monetization of roughly USD 50 per profile.
