Solana, a layer-1 blockchain, has released a ChatGPT (a chatbot built on OpenAI's GPT model) plugin to allow developers and users to query the blockchain for on-chain data.
The plugin works through the ChatGPT interface and allows users to perform various tasks such as checking wallet balances, transferring tokens, and purchasing NFTs.
Currently, a beta version of the plugin is available for developers on the Solana Labs GitHub account.
Analyst QuickTake: ChatGPT is democratizing access and simplifying the use of blockchains. For instance, ChatGPT can be used by developers to build and audit smart contracts as well as optimize its code to improve performance. This new plugin is likely to inspire other blockchain developers to follow suit, addressing the poor user experience that has hindered the slow adoption of web3 and blockchains.
