Atari announced a partnership with Anima to bring its iconic characters as AI-powered “Onlybots” existing in Anima’s AR platform. 

Onlybots are AI companions that use AR to appear next to their owners and hold conversations based on unique personalities inspired by popular Atari characters, powered by GPT-4. The Onlybots will be launched as limited edition collectibles, with Anima planning to release a mass-market version later in 2023. 

Anima is an interactive technology company that uses AI and blockchain to bring digital characters into AR. The company's flagship game, Onlybots, features virtual collectible pets that can talk, play games, and interact with the world around them. Anima's technology includes its own graphics framework for AR and uses OpenAI's GPT-4 for AI, which they can prompt with their own layer to switch between different AI models easily.
