Meati Foods, a company that produces mycelium-based meat alternatives, has debuted its Eat Meati products at 260 Meijer supermarkets in six US states, marking the brand's first mainstream grocery availability.
The products are now available in two-unit packages, including Classic Cutlet, Crispy Cutlet, and Carne Asada Steak, and are found in Meijer’s refrigerated produce section. Meati aims to become the US market share leader in plant-based meat by 2025.
Meijer is a retail company based in the US, operating more than 250 supercenters and grocery stores in six states (Midwestern US). It offers a wide range of products, including groceries, clothing, electronics, and home goods.
Analyst QuickTake: The partnership with Meijer represents Meati's second major retail milestone for 2023 after it expanded to all 380 Sprouts Farmers Market stores in March. The company has successfully partnered with several US food service companies, including burger chain PLNT Burger, salad chain Sweetgreen, and fast-casual restaurant chain Birdcall.
