Misha’s Kind Foods, a producer of plant-based cheese, has partnered with Walmart to facilitate its entrance into conventional grocery retail chains and to expand the distribution of its non-dairy cheese made with cashew milk.
Products previously only sold at natural and specialty grocery stores in the Pacific Northwest, Rocky Mountains, Pacific Southwest, Texas, and Hawaii will now be available at Walmart outlets in California, Utah, Nevada, Washington, and Texas.
Walmart outlets will shelf four flavors of Misha’s spreadable cheese: French Connection, Smoked Cheddar, Sari, and Black Truffle.
Analyst QuickTake: Earlier this year, Misha’s Kind Foods launched its first-ever crowdfunding campaign with a goal of USD 5 million. The funds raised from this round were earmarked for national distribution expansion effort, including the addition of Walmart as a retailer in over 700 stores, with additional expansions into Whole Foods National, Safeway, Albertson, and Lipari Food.
