Mithril Security, a Paris-based startup developing privacy solutions for use of sensitive data in SaaS applications, has raised EUR 1.2 million (~USD 1.3 million) in a pre-seed funding round with participation from CyberImpact, Polytechnique Venture, and ITFarm.
The company intends to use the funds to develop “Blindbox,” a privacy tool allowing the use of sensitive data in large language models (LLMs) such as OpenAI’s GPT-4 and Google’s Bard. Using Blindbox, LLMs can be deployed in confidential computing enclaves, allowing data to be decrypted only within trusted execution environments (TEEs) with no visibility to the provider of the LLM.
Founded in 2020, Mithril caters to providers of SaaS applications and AI, developing open-source solutions for the deployment of these products in secure computing environments.
