LØCI, a British startup producing biodegradable sneakers made from recycled plastic materials, has introduced its latest offering, the maize eco-leather collection featuring a range of 100% vegan materials, replicating the luxurious appearance and texture of leather.
The trainers in this collection are made from a combination of 50% corn waste and 50% recycled polyurethane, resulting in shoes that maintain their shape and are claimed to be four times more durable than traditional animal hide. LØCI also incorporates 100% natural rubber soles, 100% recycled foam midsoles, and natural cork insoles.
Every pair of LØCI trainers is handmade in Porto, Portugal, with a biodegradability rate of 63%. It also complies with REACH regulations, guaranteeing a chemical-free manufacturing process that ensures a high level of protection of human health and the environment against harmful substances.
