Enapter unveils its AEM Multicore electrolyzer

Product updates

  • Enapter, an Italian anion exchange membrane (AEM) electrolyzer producer, has unveiled its AEM Multicore, the world's first megawatt-scale AEM electrolyzer to produce green hydrogen.

  • The company’s AEM Multicore is a cost-effective alternative to conventional megawatt class electrolyzers, featuring 420 AEM stacks, producing nearly 450 kilograms of green hydrogen per day.

  • Enapter has already received orders for its AEM Multicore from Europe, Asia, and North America. These megawatt-scale electrolyzers will be produced at the Enapter Campus, in Saerbeck, Germany. The company will produce its first AEM Multicore systems in 2023, with pre-series maturity expected for 2024.

  • Analyst QuickTake: Most recently in January 2023 , Enapter and its partner YEST, a Korean manufacturer of semiconductors and displays, received an order from South Korea for two AEM Multicore electrolyzers, with a total capacity of two megawatts. This demonstration project was supported by the South Korean Ministry of Industry and Trade (Motie) with 62 billion South Korean won (43.3 million US dollars) in funding to investigate and compare different electrolysis technologies to produce green hydrogen.
